Ant-Man and the Wasp is the Marvel Studios film and the 20th film in the MCU as Peyton Reed returns to direct and was released in 2018 after Infinity War. This may have not been the best MCU film in Phase 3, but it was pretty entertaining.
Paul Rudd returns as Scott Lang and literally makes this film as Scott. He is funny and is probably the funniest person in the MCU without even trying. Evangeline Lilly returns as Hope who becomes the Wasp and nailed it in the role, she kicked butt and is a great role model. Michael Douglas and Michael Peña return as Hank Pym and Luis who are once again great in their roles. Luis of course stealing the show. We get introduced to new characters such as Michelle Pfeiffer as Janet van Dyne, Laurence Fishburne as Bill Foster, and Hannah John-Kamen as Ava who were great and had interesting things going on. And there's Randall Park as Jimmy Woo who was entertaining and stole the show along with Luis.
The film is about Scott Lang working gait Hank and Hope again to get Hank's wife Janet van Dyne out of the quantum realm as other people get in their way. I liked how it explored more of the quantum realm as that played a big role in the next Avengers film. The film is funny, has fun action, and has its touching moments too as some of the best scenes were with Scott and his daughter. The special effects were also great for the quantum realm and the shrinking and growing effects for Ant-Man and Wasp.
The film does have its flaws as it felt like the film was lacking something. Also, there wasn't really a true antagonist, just people getting in their way but not necessarily the main villain.
Overall it is a fun film. It's entertaining and funny as the first Ant-Man film. It is a good sequel to that and it is a fun film in the MCU that opens the door for new things. I can't wait for Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, hopefully, Luis gets a suit.
