Ms. Marvel is the recent Disney+ MCU series as Adil and Bilall lead the directing team and was released in June. Reading the first run of the Ms. Marvel comics recently made me excited for this and my expectations were met as it was a good series!

The series stars Iman Vellani as Kamala Khan/ Ms. Marvel and she is perfect in the role. She is Kamala right out of the comics but her powers are a bit different but they're honestly super cool. The series also stars Matt Lintz, Yasmeen Fletcher, Zenobia Shroff, Mohan Kapur, and Saagar Shaikh who are all great as their characters are essential to the story and to Kamala with some of them stealing the show.

The series is about Kamala, who is an Avengers fangirl, especially of Captain Marvel, struggling to fit in until she gets powers. What I loved about the series is the lighthearted tone throughout it as it is a coming of age story of this character fitting into the larger MCU as there are lots of teen vibes which is honestly something I wanted to see more of in the MCU Spider-Man films. Other things that were great were the score and the cinematography, and I liked the texting graphics along with the scenes as those were done well. But the self-discovery story throughout it was done very well, and surprisingly no rushed finale!

However, the series does have its flaws. It felt like it sidetracked for a bit with the whole separate dimension and leaving the country arc in the middle of the series but those parts were still good. However, the antagonists such as the Djinns could have been better. Also, Damage Control's motives for going after Teenage Heroes are strange and it is just going nowhere, cool to see references from Far From Home though.

Overall this was a great series and a great introduction to the character. Fans of the comics would enjoy it if they don't mind the power changes. I hope a Season 2 gets announced soon. But it does set up for The Marvels which I can't wait for!
