Black Widow is the Marvel Studios film and the 24th film in the MCU as it is directed by Cate Shortland and released in 2021. This film was originally supposed to be released in 2020 but was sadly postponed by the pandemic. After years of waiting for a Black Widow film, we finally get it and it doesn't disappoint at all.

Scarlett Johansson returns as Natasha Romanoff, the Black Widow, and does an amazing job for her last time in the role. It is known that she helped with the film, as she was an executive producer for it, and helped approve the story and find a director. With this film, she gave it her all for her final time in the role. She is joined by Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova, David Harbour as Red Guardian, and Rachel Weisz as Melina Vostokoff who all worked well together. But Pugh and Harbour were really the ones that stole the show.

The film is about Natasha Romanoff having to face something that is tied to her past as she is on the run after the events of Captain America: Civil War. What is great about this film is the action in it as it is actioned packed. As always we see Black Widow kick a lot of ass but this time we see more of it. What is also great about the film are the character moments showing this group is a weird type of family. The bonding from that works. The score and cinematography were also amazing too. This film stands out from other MCU films as it is more of a family action spy espionage film which worked perfectly.

A minor flaw with the film is that Taskmaster could have been better. I don't hate what they did with the character but I hope that with the feedback received Marvel and many other studios can learn that changing characters don't always necessarily work. Especially when they're popular characters and have a fan base. Also, it's frustrating how we get this film and the character of Natasha Romanoff is dead. We should've gotten the film and a trilogy years ago.

Overall, it was a great film and surely a different one that stands out in the MCU. It is about time we got this film. With that, it doesn't disappoint. I do recommend it.
