Captain Marvel is the Marvel Studios film and the 21st film in the MCU as it is directed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck. This seems to get mixed reactions, but truthfully I do not care. I honestly loved this film.

The film stars Brie Larson as Carol Danvers / Captain Marvel who is amazing in the role. She is the perfect casting as she is practically Carol Danvers right out of the comics. She is such a delight as she is a badass. Samuel L. Jackson returns as Nick Fury and as always he's great. It was great seeing his and Carol's friendship as it's one of the best things in the film as Brie and Sam are best friends in real life. The film also stars Ben Mendelsohn as Talos, Lashana Lynch as Maria Rambeau, Annette Bening, Jude Law as Yon-Rogg, and Clark Gregg returning as Phil Coulson who all did great as they were fun to watch. But Goose the Flerken Cat stole the show.

The film is about Carol Danvers becoming Captain Marvel after she crashes on earth and discovers her past as the Skrulls and Kree are in a war with each other. What I liked is how this is a self-discovery story as Carol is learning about her past life slowly realizing who she actually is. Also, there is a twist with the Skrulls which I thought was perfect and done well making the Skrulls unique from their comic counterparts. This is a fun film as it had great action, great special effects especially de-aging Fury, funny moments, and awesome '90s music that rocked. I would have never expected Nirvana to be played in a Marvel film.

Minor flaws that the film has is that the first act was a bit slow. But after the first act, it kicks off into high gear. Another thing was that it needed to be a bit longer to show more of the backstory of the characters as I wish we would have seen more of Carol in the Air Force, the Kree soldiers, and more of why they are at war with the Skrulls.

Overall Captain Marvel is such a great and fun film and is an important character as she is now a role model to others and an inspiration to many people. I can't wait for Captain Marvel 2.
