Spider-Man: No Way Home is the Marvel and Sony film that is the 27th film in the MCU that is directed by Jon Watts and released in 2021. After the Sony and Disney breakup and makeup, so many worst-kept secrets, leaks, and several delays, we finally get No Way Home as it is a celebration for Spider-Man fans.
The film stars Tom Holland returning as Peter Parker/ Spider-Man and this has to be his best performance as the character as we see him suffer throughout the film the way Spider-Man does. He is definitely a Spectacular Spider-Man (pun intended). The film also has Benedict Cumberbatch as Doctor Strange in a colleague style role who helps Peter while Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Marisa Tomei, and Jon Favreau returning as their roles who all were amazing (no pun intended, okay it's intended). And we see returning villains from Willem Dafoe, Alfred Molina, Jamie Foxx, and more who were great as Dafoe proves he can still be super scary as the Goblin while Foxx is given much better material than TASM 2. It was also amazing to see many past actors return as they were amazing then, and amazing now, especially an actor who deserves an Oscar for a recent musical film.
The film is about a spell going wrong that causes the multiverse to open up and bring in Spider-Man villains and heroes from alternate realities into the MCU. Everything stood out from the film with the score by Michael Giacchino, the cinematography, the action, development, just everything. There is a lot of emotion throughout the film as there are lots of cheers, shockers, and emotional stuff. As stated before this film is a celebration of 20 years of the character in the film. It does everything perfectly as nothing felt force whether it's referencing past films, fan service, just everything stood out.
The flaws I have are just a little nitpicking since I wanted more, and wanted more interactions between certain characters. Give us a 4-hour version of this film Sony.
Overall, it's just amazing to watch as fans from all of the Spider-Man films will happily enjoy it. This is honestly my favorite Spider-Man movie, my favorite MCU film, and one of my favorite comic book films. This film is just amazing and it's definitely a must-watch. Thank you, Marvel and Sony.
