Spider-Man: Far From Home is the Marvel and Sony film that is the 23rd installment in the MCU, making it the final film in Phase 3 and the final installment in the Infinity Saga as it is directed by Jon Watts and released in 2019. The film is a perfect Spider-Man film as well as it wrapping up the Infinity Saga that started with Iron Man perfectly.
Tom Holland returns is just amazing as Spider-Man. He nails both Peter Parker and Spider-Man completely. He brings something new to the character that is fun to watch. Jake Gyllenhaal stars as Mysterio and he did a great job bringing this character to life. He is probably one of the best Spider-Man antagonists to be on screen. Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Marisa Tomei, and Jon Favreau return as their characters who do great, especially Zendaya and Batalon as they played important parts for Peter and the story. Samuel L. Jackson also returns as Nick Fury and as always does great.
The film is about Peter dealing with the effects of Endgame as he goes on a school summer trip to Europe as he is recruited by Nick Fury to team up with Mysterio to face the Elementals. I liked how Peter's arc was. He's just a teenager who wants to do teenage things and has the pressure of being Spider-Man on his shoulders. That is a perfect Spider-Man story right there and it worked perfectly. While the first half of the film is great, the second half is where it became even more amazing. It had all these amazing Spider-Man moments and Spider-Man fight scenes. The film once again had a great score, great special effects, and great Spidey action that was a lot of fun.
A few minor flaws are that some scenes could have been cut out focusing on certain characters that were just comedic reliefs.
Overall this is one of the best Spider-Man films there is. I love how it is doing something different from the Raimi and TASM films. It does not disappoint at all. It ends Phase 3 of the MCU while it gets things ready for Phase 4. This is a perfect version of Spider-Man and I'm glad the Sony and Marvel deal is continuing as I can't wait for Spider-Man 3.
