Thor is a Marvel Studios film and the fourth installment in the MCU as it is directed by Kenneth Branagh and released in 2011. This has one of the only regrets that Marvel Studios have, and it's bleaching Chris Hemsworth's eyebrows. While it may not have been the best MCU film in Phase One, it was a good introduction to these characters and this side of the MCU.

The film stars Chris Hemsworth as the God of Thunder Thor and he is perfect in the role as he's like a pirate who had a baby with an angel. He has these mighty godly features. The film also stars Tom Hiddleston as Loki who was also great and steals the show when he's on-screen. What's crazy is that the two at the time were super unknown, and look that them now. The film also stars Natalie Portman as Jane Foster, Anthony Hopkins as Odin, Stellan Skarsgård, and Idris Elba who all did great in their roles. Portman as Jane Foster was great and I liked her chemistry with Hemsworth as they're both from two different worlds.

The film is about Thor being banished from Asgard and stripped of his powers is sent to Earth as Loki plots to be king. The film is filled with Shakespearean videos from Asgard, the Asgardians, and the story with Loki betraying Thor which help make the film feel unique in the MCU. I liked seeing Thor understand human life. I also liked how we explore some of the other realms within the MCU as it teases more too. The film also had great action scenes. The film does play Foo Fighters so that's a plus for me.

But this film has plenty of flaws. As it starts with Shakespearean Asgard then straight up to New Mexico could have been handled better. Really the film is just bland as it feels it was a bit slow and dragged on. I felt the film also needed more for Thor's redemption arc for him to be worthy too.

Overall it's an okay film but it's one of my least favorites in the MCU. But it introduced the God of Thunder and his Mischief brother, two characters that many love today.
