What If..? Season 1 is an animated series in the MCU that was released on Disney+ in 2021. The idea of this series is a genius way to expand the multiverse which the plots and story could have been better in some of the episodes.
The season introduces The Watcher, known as Uatu in the comics, as he is voiced by Jeffery Wright who does a great job in the series as his character is interesting as probably has the best voice acting out of everyone. It includes most of the MCU cast returning as their characters except Chris Evans, RDJ, Brie Larson, Scarlett Johansson, Tom Holland, Zoe Saldana, and some others. While most of them returned, some voice acting was kind of weak as it was obvious some have never voice acted before. This was also the last thing Chadwick Boseman did before his death and he did amazing as he voiced T'Challa in several episodes.
The season is about The Watcher narrating as he is exploring alternate timelines in the multiverse as it shows many what-if moments. One thing that was amazing was the animation as it was unique and stood out for being done well. Most of the what-if moments explored too were bizarre and interesting as each episode seem to have different tones, especially the Doctor Strange one. How it all came together in the end too was great.
The season had its flaws though as the voice acting could be better as it's obvious some of these actors never voice acted before. Then they said they got voice actors who sound like the actors which some of them just didn't which stood out.
Most of the plots showed how easily killable the Avengers are and they killed Tony off multiple times like he's Kenny in South Park. Some stuff seems to not make sense as the heroes had new abilities or were able to do stuff they couldn't do in the movies.
Overall, it was a fun watch, it could have been so much better. But I still enjoyed it. I'm sure this helps lead to Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness as it explores the MCU Multiverse so I do recommend it.
